Ingredients :

- marinara sauce
- beef broth
- ricotta
- mozzarella
- Italian seasoning
Instructions :
PREPARATION (5 minutes):
1. Read through the entire recipe before starting so you know what to expect.
2. Gather all ingredients for Lasagna Soup and measure them out before cooking begins.
3. Bring any refrigerated proteins to room temperature for 15-20 minutes for even cooking.
4. Preheat oven to required temperature if this is a baked recipe.
5. Prepare your workspace — clear counter space and have all tools ready.
COOKING:
6. If recipe includes protein (chicken, beef, pork): season all sides generously with salt and pepper. Heat oil or butter in pan over medium-high heat until shimmering. Sear protein without moving for 4-5 minutes per side to develop a golden crust. Remove and set aside.
7. If recipe includes aromatics (garlic, onion, shallots): use the same pan with residual fat. Cook onion 5-6 minutes until soft. Add garlic and cook 60 seconds until fragrant — do not let it burn.
8. Build your sauce or base: add liquids (broth, cream, tomatoes, or sauce) to the pan. Scrape up all the brown bits stuck to the pan — this is where the flavor is. Stir well to combine all elements.
9. Add any dairy elements (cream cheese, heavy cream, parmesan): reduce heat to low before adding to prevent curdling. Stir constantly until fully melted and incorporated.
10. Return protein to the pan if removed earlier. Spoon sauce over the top. Cover partially and simmer on low heat for 10-15 minutes until protein is fully cooked through (165°F for chicken, 160°F for pork, 145°F for beef).
11. Add any vegetables or greens in the last 3-5 minutes of cooking to keep them vibrant and slightly crisp.
FINISHING:
12. Taste the dish and adjust seasoning — add more salt, pepper, acid (lemon juice or vinegar), or heat (red pepper flakes) as needed.
13. If sauce is too thin: simmer uncovered 3-5 more minutes, stirring occasionally. If too thick: add a splash of broth or cream.
14. Plate immediately and garnish with fresh herbs (parsley, basil, or cilantro), a drizzle of olive oil, freshly grated parmesan, or a squeeze of lemon depending on the recipe.
